Kandi Kouture Lily Grace Ballerina Collection Campaign
I had the opportunity to collaborate with the amazing brand - Kandi Kouture in Charlotte, North Carolina, to capture their new ballerina product collection with Lily Grace. To be honest, I was asked the day of the help because the original photographer was not available so the owner, Sari Lopez, made the executive decision to hire me on the spot. From our short conversation on the phone, I knew this was an opportunity I could not pass up and I made my way from Greensboro to Charlotte without any hesitation. Meeting the Kandi Kouture team, Lily & Elliot (the amazing ballerinas) and their parents was delightful as they were so happy to not have the photoshoot cancelled. We got to work immediately as the studio space was only booked for a short period of time.
Tasked with capturing the full ballerina collection, we aimed to utilize the entire studio space as it had 4 different setups for different looks for the photos. Lily and Elliot were such a great spirits as they were extremely patient with me as I figured out the correct lighting and worked with me to get the timing correct for their elegant poses. Their parents noticed that I was able to capture the poses without many hiccups and complimented me as photographers in the past took 5-10 attempts to get the shot right.
The experience working on this amazing collection was incredible because I usually have time to prepare mentally and have a full run down of the photoshoot day well in advance but I believe this was fate as the other photographer gave me a great opportunity to shine and create on a whim. Sari, Lily, Elliot and the team were so happy with the results and extremely fast turnaround time that we will be working again soon! So honored to partake in this opportunity of a lifetime and have the confidence to capture ballerinas in the future!
